Lawrence County Commission to Convene July 22 for Regular Session

The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners will hold its regular session on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in Courtroom A of the Lawrence County Courthouse.

The meeting will include public comment, with individuals allowed up to three minutes to speak on matters relevant to the agenda. Commissioners will hear bi-monthly financial reports from both the fiscal agent and the Director of Schools.

The board is scheduled to vote on several resolutions, including:

• Approval of minutes from the May 27 and June 30 meetings

• Amendments to the 2025–2026 county budget

• Establishment of a Department of Probation Services for General Sessions Court

• A land purchase near the public library for future expansion

• Changes to property tax assessments from past years

• Modifications to incentive payments for county commissioners and employees

• Allocation of funds from the opioid abatement settlement

• Authorization to accept donations for the animal shelter and approve adoption fees

• Funding for a new walk-in cooler/freezer for God’s Storehouse

• Additional incentives for county employees completing professional certifications
