The Tennessee Board of Utility Regulation (TBOUR) held a public meeting July 17 in Nashville to hear public comments on a proposed merger between Leoma Utility District and Lawrenceburg Utility Systems.
To retain its independence, Leoma must meet several state requirements by December 1, 2025, including:
The meeting drew strong community support for Leoma, with State Rep. Clay Doggett and County Executive David Morgan advocating for the utility’s autonomy. Several board members praised the public’s engagement.
