A Lincoln County man has been arrested following a coordinated drug investigation led by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).

On July 11, TBI special agents, along with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Fayetteville Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, executed a search warrant at a residence on the 300 block of Walnut Avenue.

During the search, investigators recovered drugs, drug paraphernalia, and firearms. Authorities have not released details on the specific types of drugs seized.

Edward Marquis Askins, 40, was taken into custody and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of Schedule II drugs, and possession of Schedule VI drugs.

Askins was booked into the Lincoln County Jail and later released after posting an $82,000 bond.
