It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rodney D. Baggett, Sr. a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and faithful community servant, who passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in New Brockton, Alabama, Rodney spent his entire career in the textile industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and humility. His commitment to excellence left a lasting mark on those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

For 55 blessed years, he was married to the love of his life, Mary, and together they built a legacy rooted in love, faith, and family. He is survived by his children: Rodney (wife Beverly), Rick (wife Linda), and Jamie Bracewell (husband Ron), each of whom carries forward his strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion to family.

Rodney was a proud grandfather to Jason (wife Adelle), Erik (wife Angel), and Brittany Box (husband Nick). His joy multiplied with the arrival of his great-grandchildren: Ashton, Analiese, Audralyn, Kylie, Aubrey, and Avery. He was also blessed to welcome three great-great-grandsons: Koa, Kaius, and Alex. Those serving as pallbearers are Nick Box, Warren Riggins, Jason Baggett, Erik Baggett, Ashton Baggett, and Aubrey Baggett.

A man of strong faith and servant leadership, Rodney was active in the Rotary Club and served faithfully at Choate’s Creek United Methodist Church. Whether volunteering his time or lending a hand to those in need, he always put others before himself.

He had a deep love for Alabama football—cheering on the Crimson Tide with passion—and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Whether behind the grill or in the kitchen, his meals were made with love and shared with joy. His greatest happiness came from time spent with his family, often helping with projects or simply enjoying each other’s company.

Rodney will be remembered as a selfless giver, a wise and gentle presence, and a steady rock to all who knew him. His legacy of love, service, and kindness lives on in the generations he guided and inspired.
