A Limestone County judge has denied bond for Juan Hernandez, who is facing charges in connection with the rape of a child under the age of 10.

Hernandez was arrested last week following a report to the Limestone County Department of Human Resources. The report alleged that a young child had been sexually assaulted.

During a court hearing on Thursday, officials confirmed that the victim is nine years old and is someone known to Hernandez. The judge found probable cause to move the case forward and bound it over to a grand jury for further review.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office has also reported that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been notified of Hernandez’s immigration status. The investigation remains ongoing.
