William Luther “Bill” Smith

William Luther “Bill” Smith, age 92, of Summertown, TN passed away Saturday, July 05, 2025, at his residence.  He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired mechanic from the Lawrence County School Bus Garage, and a member of Summertown Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Ethel Glass Smith; his wife, Betty Mae Clifft Smith; two sons, Jerry Wayne Smith and Tony Smith; one grandson, Justin Dickson; and two sisters, Mildred Mitchell and Elizabeth Bennett.

He is survived by two daughters, Joan Konig (Jimmy) and Judy Dickson (Danny) both of Summertown, TN; one son, Jeff Smith (Linda) of Summertown, TN; two daughters-in-law, Debbie Smith and Angie Smith both of Summertown, TN; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.  Those serving as pallbearers are Kris Smith, John Dickson, Michael Smith, Andy Drew Smith, Kade Smith, and Ethan Smith.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregivers, Donna and Delores; Compassus nurses, Molly, Whitney, Alex, Sheila, and Abby; and longtime friends, Charles and Jeanette Matheny.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 12, 2025, with Jeff Smith and Tommy Lee Kidd officiating.  Interment will follow at Freedom Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, TN.  The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
