Loretto leaders have adopted new regulations governing junk vehicles allowed inside the city limits. The new ordinance describes a junk vehicle as one that is damaged or defective in a manner that renders it inoperable, or unable to be operated legally on public streets and highways. It dictates that such vehicles may not be parked or left unattended on streets or highways for any period of time. Also, they may not be parked, stored, kept or maintained on private property for more than 14 days. Violations will incur a $50 penalty plus court costs, and each day will constitute a separate violation.
