Judy Jex passed peacefully on June 29, 2025, leaving behind a radiant legacy of strength, service, and love. Born and raised in Cullman, Alabama, Judy learned early the power of hard work and compassion. Those roots blossomed into a lifetime of giving.
Judy’s greatest joy was nurturing. Her garden stood as a living testament to the care she poured into every corner of her life. Just as she coaxed seedlings into bloom, she patiently cultivated confidence, faith, and courage in everyone lucky enough to know her.
A devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, Judy expressed her faith through action. She taught life’s lessons with humility and wit, guided by a rock-solid moral compass that never wavered. Family, friends, and strangers alike found in Judy a steady hand, a wise teacher, and a bright guiding light.
Judy is survived by her mother, Joyce Gaskill; brother, Jody Martin; her children Brianna (Cori) McGarvin, Hali Jex, Kelsey (Makade) Archibald, Zachary Jex, and Machaela Pirtle; and ten adoring grandchildren who will forever cherish “Grandma Judy’s” thoughtful gifts, life lessons, and bedtime stories.
A memorial celebrating her life will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025, with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 and memorial service to follow at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Florence, Alabama. All whose lives were brightened by Judy are welcome to attend and honor her enduring example of selfless love.
Though her hands now rest, Judy’s spirit of quiet strength and boundless giving continues to bloom in the hearts of all she touched. Her place in our hearts is irreplaceable, her influence everlasting, and her legacy—a garden of faith, courage, and kindness—will flourish for generations to come.
