A Florence man is facing multiple drug-related charges after authorities executed a search warrant at a local residence on Tuesday.
Agents with the Lauderdale County Drug Task Force conducted the raid at 509B Chestnut Street as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug activity at the location. Officials say the search warrant was issued based on evidence that one of the occupants was involved in illegal drug distribution.
During the search, investigators reportedly discovered approximately 15 grams of fentanyl and a small quantity of methamphetamine (ICE), along with various items of drug paraphernalia commonly used for packaging and distributing narcotics.
The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Timothy Austin Russ of Florence, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The Lauderdale County Drug Task Force expressed appreciation for the support of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office and the Lauderdale County District Attorney’s Office in the operation, which they described as another successful drug seizure.
Authorities remind the public that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
