The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department has been gifted body armor for its four K-9 officers, to provide protection in more dangerous situations. The body armor is designed to protect the K-9s from bullets and stab wounds. The body armor was donated by the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s. The armor is made in the U.S. and custom fitted to each K-9 officer. Each vest costs more than $1,000 and comes with a five-year warranty.
