A collision on Interstate 65 that occurred on Tuesday, June 17th, claimed the life of one individual, according to the Maury County Fire Department. The crash occurred just after 3:00 PM at the 36-mile marker on I-65 Southbound. When the Maury County Fire Department units arrived, one individual was trapped inside of the vehicle, as a result of the head-on collision. The department stated, unit Rescue 21 moved quickly to extract the individual, but the collision was fatal. The driver of the other vehicle suffered from minor injuries. Due to the crash, I-65 was closed for approximately an hour. Engines 21 and 24, Rescue 21, OPS 20, Support 20, and Deputy 20 were the responding units, according to MCFD authorities. The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Maury County Sheriff’s Department, Maury Regional Emergency Medical Services, and Maury County 911 were among the other responding agencies.
