A fraud inquiry leads to the arrest and charging of two individuals. A local electrical contractor called the Giles County Sheriff’s Department to report that he finished the second phase of construction of a new home off of Little Dry Creek Road in Pulaski. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the contractor made a deal with an individual who claimed to be John Fritts. Authorities think Nicholas Scott Barnes is the real identity of the individual. According to the Sheriff’s Department, since the start of the investigation, the contractor has not received payment for any of the work he has done. At least two additional contractors who finished work at the site have also gone unpaid, according to information provided to the Sheriff’s Department. Ashley Nicole Barnes and Nicholas Scott Barnes were taken into custody on Wednesday, June 11th on accusations associated with the investigation. Additionally, Nicholas Barnes had a pending warrant from New York. There are thought to be more victims involved. Please call Investigator Almada at 931-363-3505 if you are a contractor who worked on Little Dry Creek Road for Ashley Barnes, Nicholas Barnes, or John Fritts and have not received payment.
