Barbara Jean Pitts of Fayetteville, Tennessee passed away Thursday morning, June 19 th , 2025, at
Elk River Nursing and Rehab in Fayetteville, Tennessee. She was born on July 11 th , 1943 in
Fayetteville, TN. and was 81 years old.
Barbara was a former secretary at Brady Tile and Marble and worked for many years at Lincoln
County Adult Education. She enjoyed bird watching, sewing and crafts. She was of the Baptist
faith and was a member of Park City Baptist Church for many years.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22 nd , 2025 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Bennett-May &
Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory
Funeral service will follow at 3:00pm on Sunday, June 22 nd , 2025 in the chapel of Bennett-May &
Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory
The burial will be held at a later date.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Martha Baker Smith and brother Joe
Maurice Smith.
She is survived by,

Halie (Matt) Cantor of Huntsville, AL
Great grandsons, Knox Cantor and Sebastián Román
Sister-in-law, Fay Smith of Fayetteville, TN

Niece, Tori (Chad) Tipps of Fayetteville, TN
Best friend, Anita Locker of Fayetteville, TN
She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and a host of other friends and
relatives.
