A Leighton man is being charged with several felonies after police searched his home earlier this week and found methamphetamine, marijuana, and other illegal drugs. Sgt. Evans of the Leighton Police Department obtained a search warrant for a residence on Clark Street inside the Leighton municipal limits on Sunday, June 15th, 2025, according to authorities. With help from the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Evans and Officer Austin Smith carried out the warrant execution on Monday, June 16th. During the search, officers discovered; 1.3 ounces of methamphetamine, individually packaged for distribution, 2.25 ounces of marijuana, two types of controlled substance pills, and drug paraphernalia. As a result of this search, Eric Bryant, 46, was taken into custody and charged with Drug Trafficking- Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 Counts), Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bryant was transported to the Colbert County Jail and has a set bond of $85,000.
