That same year, he returned to Summertown High School, where he has been an Assistant Principal for eleven of the past seventeen years. Over his 26-year career, Mr. Burleson has coached baseball, softball, and cross-country in addition to serving as a leader in the classroom and administrative office. While working as the school’s Athletic Director, he most recently obtained his Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) certification. Kelly Burleson, a teacher at Summertown Elementary, is Mr. Burleson’s spouse. They have two daughters: Reagan, who plays softball for the Chargers at Columbia State Community College, and Anisten, who will start her teaching career at Southside Elementary in Pulaski. Congratulations on your well-earned appointment, Mr. Burleson. Lawrence County Schools looks forward to his continued leadership at Summertown High School.
