A Second Deputy Chief Position has Now Been Assigned in Lawrence County

According to Lawrenceburg Police Chief Terry Beecham, MTAS was recently brought in to help the department with recruitment, retention, and succession. Utilizing input and years of experience from MTAS, one of the recommendations was to restructure the department. Effective on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025, at 8:00 AM, the department has been restructured to allow a second Deputy Chief position. Lieutenant Hughie Englett will be promoted to the position of Deputy Chief of Operations, and Deputy Chief Daren Goolsby will assume the responsibility of Deputy Chief of Administration. After several weeks of reviewing individual performance, attitude, and willingness to comply with the goals and objectives of this office, a selection was determined and approved by the City Manager in accordance with City and Department policy.
