On Friday, June 13th, the Lawrenceburg Sheriff’s Department responded to a call in reference to an overdosed subject. Dispatched advised CPR was in progress and that the subject possibly had taken heroin. When Deputy Davis arrived, he found a female performing CPR on the subject in the bathroom who moved over for the deputy to resume CPR. The female stated the subject was unconscious, had taken heroin, and was not breathing. When the deputy took over, he could visually see the subject was not breathing. The deputy then administered 4mg of Narcan into the subject nasal cavity and then began chest compressions. The deputy then advised to inform dispatch it was safe for EMS to enter the residence. Shortly after, EMS member McDow entered the bathroom and began setting up equipment along with Deputy Barnett and took over while awaiting EMS. Upon EMS arrival, the subject was moved into the hallway where she gained consciousness and began to yell for help. The subject was then removed from the residence and transported to a nearby hospital. Deputies did return inside the residence after having consent to search and discovered two needles, one empty and one filled with a clear liquid, a spoon, and a lighter. From Sheriff John Myers, “This is just one more example of how hard my deputies work for the good people of Lawrence County. It’s not uncommon at all when they go above and beyond the call of duty. I’m very proud of all of them”.
