The Lawrenceburg Rotary Club was proud to recognize Megan Johnstone as its newest Paul Harris Fellow during the club’s meeting on Friday, June 13. The recognition was made even more special as Megan was named a Paul Harris Fellow by her father, John Johnstone, who currently serves as President of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club. The presentation was conducted by Rotarian Bill Phillips, a longtime Rotary Foundation advocate and past Foundation Chair. The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is one of Rotary International’s highest honors and acknowledges individuals who contribute, or have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 or more to The Rotary Foundation. The Foundation supports Rotary’s worldwide programs including the eradication of polio, clean water initiatives, peace and conflict resolution efforts, and education. By naming Megan as a Paul Harris Fellow, President Johnstone not only honored his daughter’s support of Rotary ideals, but also reinforced the club’s ongoing commitment to Rotary International’s mission of doing good in the world. The Lawrenceburg Rotary Club meets weekly and actively supports both local and international service projects that reflect the Rotary motto: “Service Above Self.”
