The Lawrenceburg City Council met on Thursday, June 12th at 9:00 AM in the Council Meeting Room in the Municipal Complex located at 25 Public Square, Lawrenceburg. The agenda included an ordinance and several resolutions. Those included; an ordinance to amend ordinance no. 1404 entitled budget appropriations of revenue and expenditures for the 2024-2025 fiscal year for the City of Lawrenceburg general fund. Resolutions included; entering into a contract to sell real property located at 219 South Military Avenue, appointing Eric Lanning to the Board of Public Utilities, and amending several resolutions being salary supplement resolutions for certain City of Lawrenceburg employees. Involving ordinance no. 1404, the Lawrenceburg Annual Appropriations Budget did not include funds in General Fund, Capital Projects Fund, and Sanitation Fund for several projects; and those funds did increase the Departments budgets in which the funds will be used. With the desire to amend the 2024-2025 budget, the council agreed upon the amount of $630,000.00 for the fiscal year. General funds including fund balance, property taxes(delinquent), building and related permits, sale of property, retirees, hospital and health insurance, animal control, salaries of departments, and planning and development totaled to be $425,000.00. Capital projects including fund balance and finance department expenses totaling to be $195,000.00. Lastly, Sanitation funds included fund balance and the sanitation department with other professional services totaled to be $10,000.00. The resolution of entering into a contract with Billy Hill for property located at 219 South Military Avenue passed with the authorization of City Administrator, Dick McKinley, with an offer of $25,000.00 along with other fees at Hill’s request. The resolution to appoint Eric Lanning to the Board of Public Utilities did pass and will take effect as of June 30th, 2025 and will expire on June 30th, 2029. Lastly, resolutions including the increase of salary supplements for certain City of Lawrenceburg employees were approved through the 2025-2026 Budget process. Supplemental compensation will take effect beginning July 1st, 2025 for the Police Department, Fire Department, EMA (not Codes), and Sanitation and Public Works.
