Virginia Louise Pettus, age 90, of Loretto, TN, passed away at home with family and friends by her bedside on June 7, 2025.
Born May 1, 1935, to Herman and Leo Creekmore, she was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She lived a life marked by deep faith and her enduring love for her family.
She married the love of her life on September 7, 1952. She and Olen shared 62 years of togetherness until he passed. She longed for the day when they would be together again in Heaven.

Parents: Herman (Jack) and Leo Creekmore
Sister: Marie White
Sister-In-law: Dottie Creekmore
Brother-In-Law: Ancel White
Survivors include:
Son: Jimmy Dale Pettus (Rita) of Greenhill, AL
Daughter: Phyllis Conner (Darrell) of Summertown, TN
Brother: Glenn Creekmore of Lexington, AL
Grandchildren: Troy Pettus (Mary Beth) of Greenhill, AL; Chad Pettus (Bethany) of Muscle Shoals, AL; and Kayla Conner of Summertown, TN
Great-Grandchildren: Ally Kate and Addy Karsen Pettus & Jack, Jon Brody, and Eli Pettus
She was a member of State Line Grove Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 P.M at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Joel Wallace, Paul Monk, and Kyle Conner officiating. Burial will be in Restview Cemetery in Loretto, TN.
Pallbearers will be Wade Pettus, Kevin Creekmore, Rodney Sharp, Harley Simbeck, Troy Pettus, and Jack Pettus.
We would also like to thank Janet Wood and all the home health nurses that helped care for our mother.
A special thanks to Gentiva Hospice Nurses Heather, V, and especially Jessica who stayed with us until the end. Our family was blessed to have such special people care for our precious Mother and Nanny.
