Counterfeit Money Investigation Underway

Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies opened an investigation last week after a customer passed counterfeit money at the Dollar General store on Scenic Road. The man paid for his purchase using $20 and $5 bills. The manager reported the man took the items and his change and left the premises.  Deputies were able to get a good description of the suspect along with a tentative identification.  The matter currently remains under investigation.
