The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Responds to a Shooting Incident on Interstate 65

Deputies from the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting incident on Interstate 65 near Mile Marker 347 on Saturday, May 31st, 2025. An individual and his family, who called 911, were going North when a man on a motorcycle opened fire on them. The lives of the occupants of the victim’s car were in risk when the bullets struck it. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) found the suspect about 10 miles away from the area after the alert was sent out with a thorough description of the person. Jason Jermain Johnson, 30, of Centerville, Tennessee, was identified as the suspect by Limestone County Deputies who arrived to help with the traffic stop. Johnson had a loaded weapon and two more loaded magazines when he was arrested. He was also wearing a bulletproof vest underneath an Outcast Motorcycle Club vest. After gathering evidence and witness statements, Johnson was arrested and charged with Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle and three counts of Attempted Murder. A bond has not been set at this time for Johnson and Aniah’s Law hearing will be held at a later date.
