Southern Middle Tennessee and North Alabama are growing fast. Habitat for Humanity builds homes for families in need and says the affordable housing crisis here has left 600 families on their waiting list right now in North Alabama.

Habitat for Humanity of the River Valley serves multiple areas, including Huntsville, Madison, Limestone, and Jackson counties.

500 families in Madison County and another 100 in Limestone County are waiting, and that’s just to get an application for qa Habitat House.

Once an application is obtained, there is no time limit for how long a family can stay on the waitlist.

In North Alabama, Habitat is looking for individuals who want to come and donate their time and energy. If you own a business that can help with home construction or home repairs, please volunteer.

Habitat For Humanity will be dedicating their first home in the Athens-Limestone County community at 9am, May 31st.
