The Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg recently announced Lisa Robertson as the recipient of the 2025 Mercy Award. The Mercy Award is an annual recognition program created in 2002 to honor the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding chairman and CEO, and it is thought to be the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive. The Mercy Award honors one employee from each of LifePoint Health’s hospitals who has a profound impact on the lives of others and best embodies the spirit and values upon which the company was founded. Robertson, a 30-year veteran of the local hospital who went from LPN to Case Manager, is a perfect example of STRHS’s basic principles. She recently went above and above the call of duty for a patient who had lost her daughter and was recuperating from a fractured hip. Since there was no family in the area, Robertson planned the funeral, dealt with insurance, made sure the patient’s pets were fed and cared for every day, and handled the housekeeping. Her deeds perfectly capture the essence of the Mercy Award. Robertson and the other hospital winners will be contending for LifePoint’s corporate Mercy Award in 2025. Robertson and all hospital winners are asked to attend the ceremony in Nashville in October, when the company-wide winner will be honored after being announced this summer.
