Authorities claim that a Sheffield man sent explicit photos of himself to a young girl, leading to him being charged with several offenses. The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office arrested 41-year-old Corey Williams on Tuesday, May 27th and charged him with four charges of electronic solicitation of a child and two counts of transmission of obscene material to a child. Court filings state that the investigation started in December 2024 after Tuscumbia Police discovered that Williams was sending the victim “inappropriate messages and pictures” on Facebook and Snapchat. According to investigators, Williams started texting the girl in 2019, and by June 2023, the communications had become “extremely sexual.” The conversations became very extreme in the discussions he would have of sexual acts and frustration occurred when his wishes were not reciprocated. The messages started out in a joking manner and over time progressed into a different approach. William’s bond was set at $120,000 and he was released less than two hours after his arrest.
