After entering a guilty plea to sex crimes involving adults and children, a former officer of the Killen Police Department will serve 15 years in prison. Jarrod Gailen Webster received his sentence in federal court in Huntsville on Wednesday. In March, Webster entered a guilty plea to one count of sexual exploitation of children and one count of deprivation of rights under color of law. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Webster acknowledged in a plea deal that he had violated a woman’s civil rights after stopping her car on November 12th, 2023. After asking the woman to exit her car, Webster asked about her plans to “get out of this.” The woman was handcuffed and sexually attacked by Webster after she informed him that she would not help him. The woman said in her victim statement that Webster’s actions had robbed her of her life and that she now faces daily challenges. She claims that she no longer has faith in others and is unwilling to leave her home. Additionally, according to the DOJ, Webster acknowledged using a phone to speak with a minor from June 2016 to October 2018. Webster requested that the minor give him sexual images of herself. At Webster’s request, the young victim sent him several images, at least one of which had evidence of child sexual abuse. This victim testified in court on Wednesday that she first encountered Webster at the age of 15. She characterized herself as an outsider who, aside from Webster, no one paid any attention to. Now that she works in law enforcement, she wants to protect the people she claims Webster deceived. In jail, Webster, whom the judge called a disgrace to law enforcement, says he has found God and is now repentant of his sins.
