Mr. William Henry Grigsby

Mr. William Henry Grigsby age 81, passed away Tuesday May 20, 2025, at his home in Lester,
AL. Mr. Grigsby was born in Lester, AL to the late William Thomas Grigsby and Violet White
Grigsby. He spent his entire life in Lester, AL but, people knew him all over the Southeast
United States. Henry confessed Christ long ago at Willow Grove Missionary Baptist Church
under the leadership of Pastor Willie Coleman at the time. Henry was educated at Red Hill
School, Green Hill School, and lastly Trinity High School. He was known all over for his ability to
fix almost anything, his work ethic, and his infectious laugh. He was known as “Mr. Fix It” in
some places and in others he was known for his amazing stories that keep you laughing with
unbelief.
Henry is preceded in death by his Parents, William Thomas Grigsby and Violet White Grigsby;
two younger brothers Bobby Jean Grigsby and Otis Grigsby. He is survived by his wife Peggy
Grigsby of Athens, AL., sons Dennis Grigsby (Casscilla) of Pulaski, TN, Terry Grigsby (Nicole) of
Athens, AL, daughter Sonya Cannon (Kareem) of Athens, AL, Brother Thomas William (Jody)
Grigsby, Mitchell Grigsby (Sharon), Carolyn Brown (Leon), Mabel Hargrove. He leaves seven
grandchildren Terrell Boykins (Carrie), Terry Grigsby Jr., Zion Cannon, Carrington Caldwell-Crook
(Devonte), Nicholas Grigsby, Roderick Watkins II, and Ashton Grigsby. He leaves six great
grandchildren Elajha Boykins, Ariana Boykins, Ezekiel Boykins, Ramiyah Boykins, Aylah Boykins
and Saroya Crook. He leaves several nieces and nephews. Along with many cousins and friends
all around the Southeastern region. He will be forever known for his kind heart and warm smile.
There will be an open visitation Friday, may 23 rd , 2025, from 9:00am until 4:00pm at Bennett-
May & Pierce Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24 th , 2025 from 11:00am until 12:00pm with a funeral
service to follow at 12:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Legg Cemetery in Leggtown, Alabama.
Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements for William
Henry Grigsby.
