Early Dismissal for Lawrence and Giles County Schools for Inclement Weather

Lawrence County School System will dismiss at 1:00 PM today, May 20th, 2025. EMA and local weather authorities are anticipating the possibility of severe weather moving into the area between the hours of 2:00-5:00 P.M., which may impact Student Transportation Services. An early dismissal provides adequate time for buses to operate safely and return safely to their origination point. Teachers will be dismissed at 1:45 P.M. 11- & 12-month school-based employees will be dismissed at 2:30 P.M. The Central Office staff will be dismissed at 3:00 P.M. with the office closing at 3:00 P.M. Giles County Schools will also be dismissed at 1:00 PM today due to uncertainty and timing of inclement weather.
