A juvenile was killed in a single-vehicle collision that happened at around 2:05 PM on Thursday, May 15th. Michael W. Ghrigsby, 60, of Florence, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado when it collided head-on with the 2009 Honda CRF230M motorcycle that the 18-year-old was riding, seriously injuring him. After receiving treatment at a nearby hospital, the 18-year-old succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased. The collision happened in Lauderdale County on Rasch Road close to Augusta Street, about a mile west of Florence. Troopers from the Highway Patrol Division of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) are still investigating the collision.
