Check For Local Restrictions Before Burning

Even though burn permits are no longer required after May 15, residents are urged to always check for any local restrictions before engaging in outdoor burning.  State law requires everyone obtain a burn permit for outdoor burning between October 15 and May 15 each year.  However, it is important to make sure that your local municipality does not have burning restrictions before you start a fire.  Before you burn, call your local municipality or fire department to make sure that conditions are safe.
