The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released a preliminary report over the incident that occurred on Highway 43 in Leoma on Sunday, May 11th. Around 3:20 PM, a Chevrolet Malibu occupied by two juveniles and a 20-year-old was traveling North on U.S Highway 43. A Ford F150 occupied by a 58-year-old male and a 55-year-old female was travelling South of U.S. Highway 43. The driver of the Malibu failed to negotiate a curve to the right and traveled across the continuous left turning lane and both south bound lanes. The collision occurred when the Malibu struck the Ford F150 head-on. The impact was made on the south bound shoulder due to the driver of the Ford F150 attempting to avoid the Malibu. Each occupant in both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision. As a result of the impact, each person involved did suffer from injuries and one juvenile was declared deceased at the scene. For treatment of serious injuries, at least three individuals were taken to hospitals in Nashville. The status of those individuals is unknown at this time. From Radio7 Media, we send our thoughts and prayers to the families and first responders who were involved and impacted by this tragedy.
