Results From the Lawrenceburg City Council Meeting

Lawrenceburg City Council met Thursday, May 8th, 2025 at 9:00 AM in the Council Meeting Room in the Municipal Complex located at 25 Public Square. The agenda included an ordinance to vacate a tract of land being the right-of-way of an alley lying between Depot Street and First Street. This street runs from the East right-of-way line of fain court eastwardly to the West right-of-way line of Tennessee Southern Railroad and lying in the eight civil district of Lawrence County in the city of Lawrenceburg. This also included the retention of any utility easements, repeal of conflicting ordinances, and effective date. The ordinance was a first reading. Resolutions included accepting the quote and enter into a contract with Roof Systems Inc. to replace the roof on the Municipal Complex building located on 25 Public Square, Lawrenceburg. Involving the ordinance to vacate a tract of land within the city of Lawrenceburg, the council did approve to move forward. The land currently exists as an alley running east to west on Depot Street and First Street. It is in the city of Lawrenceburg’s best interest to vacate and abandon the property and convey the same equally to the adjoining property owners. The city does retain any utility easements in the street or alleyway and any other utility easements presently existing or determined by the city to be necessary. The ordinance should take effect after it is passed with the public welfare requiring it. Lastly, the resolution for accepting the contract with Roof Systems Inc. was approved by the council. There were three proposals and after consideration Roof Systems Inc. was the best fit that will partner with Evers Construction. The total amount for this renovation will be $84,989.00.
