Leldon Clay Shaffer, age 81, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Monday, May 5th, 2025 at his home in Lawrenceburg. Leldon was born on July 31st, 1943 to the late Richard and Bertha Shaffer in Lawrenceburg. He worked for 38 years at Murray Ohio before retiring in 2000. He was a member of Salem Church of Christ and the Crossroads of Dixie Antique Tractor Engine Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed working outdoors, driving his tractor, spending time with his neighbor, Danny Lee, and his grandchildren, Calliope Lee, Hattie Lee, and Tillie Lee, driving his golf cart and riding the trails on the farm, gardening, and spending time with his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Bowers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Joan Shaffer; sister, Wilma Bowers; niece, Patricia Bowers Eifert (Jim); nephew, Randy Bowers; great niece, Alexandra; great nephew, Patrick; host of friends.
The family would like to extend warm gratitude to Sarah, Janet, Shekeitha, and all of the staff of Goodworks at home as well as Tammy, Carly, and Jessica of Arden Hospice for the loving care and support they showed during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held at Salem Church of Christ on Friday, May 9th, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The memorial service will be held at Salem Church of Christ on Friday, May 9th, 2025 beginning at 4:00 p.m. Brother Keith Barnett and Randy Bowers will be officiating.
Interment will be held at a later date at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens.
