On Friday, May 2nd at 10:00 AM, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office and Tennessee Highway Patrol, divisions of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, are partnering with Metro Nashville Police Department, Nashville Department of Transportation, AAA – The Auto Club Group, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Boswell’s Harley-Davidson for a press event to promote Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. This will take place at the Boswell’s Harley-Davidson located at 401 Fesslers Lane, Nashville. Subject matter experts will discuss safety tips to help spread awareness and reduce motorcycle crashes, injuries, and fatalities. Guest speaker Nick Daley will share his story about being struck by a distracted driver in February while riding his motorcycle. Guest speaker Amanda Jolley will share her story about her recent loss of a loved one due to a fatal motorcycle crash. Immediately following the press event, law enforcement partners will lead a motorcycle safety ride with local motorcycle riders of the community in Nashville. Boswell’s Harley-Davidson will provide free lunch for attendees. Additional partners supporting this event include Skyline Medical Center, Alliance Highway Safety, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Tennessee Department of Transportation, Hendersonville Police Department, Gallatin Police Department, Lebanon Police Department, Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, and more.
