A Huntsville Woman is Accused of Abusing a Child After Taking Them to the Hospital

According to the Huntsville Police Department, a Huntsville woman is accused of abusing a child. According to the police, Jessica Patterson Traweek, 35, brought a child to the hospital for treatment on March 28th. Police said they were alerted after others noticed the child’s injuries, which did not appear to be accidental. The Department of Human Resources was contacted, and a safety plan was promptly implemented to ensure that the child suffered no further injury while a member of HPD’s Special Victims Unit investigated. Police claim the investigation indicated Traweek had previously molested the child. On Friday, April 25th, the investigator acquired a warrant for Traweek’s arrest from the Madison County District Attorney’s Office, and detectives arrested her the same day. Traweek is charged with Aggravated Child Abuse, and there is presently no bond set for her on the Madison County inmate registry.
