The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Executes a Warrant Service

On Monday, April 21st, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department responded to execute a warrant service. Investigators were given information on the location of the suspect and that he would be traveling on Pleasant Garden Road in Summertown near the cemetery. One investigator attempted to stop a white vehicle where the suspect, Anthony McGee, was in the vehicle. Another investigator arrived and assisted with the stop. After stopping the vehicle, McGee was taken into custody. During a search of the individuals in the vehicle, a bag of approximately 3.5 grams of Methamphetamine was recovered. McGee stated he did bring the 3.5 grams to give to the driver as payment for a ride. McGee did take possession of the controlled substance. Also, during a probable cause search of the vehicle, in the backseat where McGee was located was a digital scale with meth residue. McGee did admit the scales were his. McGee was transported to Lawrence County Corrections and released to staff without further incident. McGee was charged with Simple Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia and also booked on his outstanding warrant.
