One Dead After a Two-Vehicle Collison in Florence

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports that a man from Florence died after a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday, April 23rd. According to the agency, 55-year-old Christopher K. Calvert was killed when his 2003 Ford Ranger collided with a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer. Calvert was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the other vehicle was hurt and taken to North Alabama Medical Center for treatment. The collision happened at around 3:00 PM on Alabama 20 near the 15-mile marker, roughly six miles West of Florence, in Lauderdale County. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are still conducting an investigation.
