As of Monday, April 21st, 2025, applications will now be accepted for the Tennessee High School Senior Real Estate Licensing Program, which was started by the Tennessee Real Estate Commission in 2024. As they finish their high school courses, the program offers eligible high school seniors around the Volunteer State a free opportunity to start their real estate sales careers, start making money, and gain professional experience. The Regulatory Boards Division of the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance includes the Tennessee Real Estate Commission. “I’m incredibly proud of the extraordinary interest that the Tennessee High School Senior Real Estate Licensing Program experienced during the program’s inaugural year, as it’s a sign that our young people are eager for potential economic opportunities,” said TREC Executive Director Denise Beard Baker. “For 2025, we’ve made some strategic updates to the program’s requirements that we believe will benefit the program and its enrollees.” Although the program aims to give high school students an opportunity, it does not alter the educational requirements for becoming a licensed real estate agent in Tennessee. The same requirements that apply to all other age groups wishing to obtain a license still apply to all high school program participants. If you have any questions or need more details you can contact the TREC staff by email trec.hsprogram@tn.gov or visit the website at tn.gov.
