The City of Columbia Releases Official Findings of a Special Census

On Monday, April 21st, the City of Columbia made public the official findings of a special census that was carried out inside the city borders. As of September 16th, 2024, the city of Columbia had 48,885 residents and 21,492 housing units, representing a 17.26% increase in population since the 2020 decennial census. Numerous state and federal funding plans distribute funds to communities according to population size.
