The State of the County in Lawrenceburg conveyed this morning, Wednesday, April 16th. The county and city leaders used this 2nd annual event as an opportunity to give a thorough report on the progress of Lawrence County, highlighting significant achievements and ongoing projects. The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce was excited to make the event open to the public this year, giving investors, corporate executives, and members of the community an even better chance to learn important lessons and have deep conversations about the county’s future. The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Ryan Egly, began the event with discussing data that is ultimately keeping Lawrence County thriving and the future of county that is very promising. County Executive, David Morgan, spoke about how Lawrence County is growing and expanding each day with additions like farm land, convenient centers, airport construction, and more. Director of Lawrence County Schools, Michael Adkins, spoke about the budget for the schools and gave details over the current success and how the future will look at the rate the board is going now. Sheriff John Myers spoke about how additional funding has tremendously helped the department and how well programs are doing within the jail. Lastly, Lawrence County Mayor, Blake Lay, Loretto Mayor, Steve McMasters, and Saint Joseph Mayor, Bubba Carter, spoke about improvements that are being made will strengthen the county as a whole. The event was a wonderful way to inform the community of what exactly is going on and how locals are directly impacted.
