Be Aware of Scam Calls in Lawrence County

Numerous calls and reports regarding a recent scam have been made to the Lawrence County, Tennessee, Sheriff’s Office. Residents of Lawrence County are getting calls from people claiming to be law enforcement and that they have an arrest warrant. Subsequently, they will inform the citizen that they can “settle” the warrant by using Bitcoin to pay the “fine.” If you receive a phone call like this, you are being scammed! The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office will not contact you about a warrant or ask for a payment over the phone. If you do get a call like this, end it and call 931-762-0450 to reach Lawrence County Dispatch or 931-762-3626 to reach the Sheriff’s Office.
