On Friday, April 4th, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in process call where the homeowner captured the suspect on camera and was in route with a shotgun. When arriving to the scene, dispatch informed the officer that the homeowner was still on the premises and the offender had already fled after damaging a shop door. After speaking with the property owner, a picture of the vehicle was revealed that was a 90’s/2000’s model silver/gray Chevrolet trailblazer with plywood on top and wooden fence post sticking out of the driver’s back window. After investigating the scene, there was damage done to the shop door, a cord to an outdoor security light had been cut, and a deer camera that captured the vehicle was taken as well. After speaking with another deputy, it was stated that the vehicle and driver, James Alexander Christian, was the same individual involved in an arrest for Burglary and Theft of Property a few nights before. The next day, the homeowner contacted the Sheriff’s Department again to inform officers that the deer camera was still on and the GPS locator was pinging at a residence on Center Grove Road. After officers responded to the pinged location, it was a church where the camera was found in the flower bed by the front porch. After discussing amongst officers, a report was made and a warrant was issued by an officer who already had cases involving Christian. No arrest has been made at this time.
