A Florence Man is Arrested for a Drug Deal While at Work

On Wednesday, April 2nd, the Lauderdale County Drug Task force began watching an individual while he was at work. Agents received confirmation that the individual, Tracy Devaughn Pride, would conduct a drug transaction while at work. Pride was spotted walking to a vehicle and appeared to be giving another individual drug. That vehicle was then followed and stopped. As a result of the stop, Florence Police Officers discovered a trafficking amount of Methamphetamine. The driver of the vehicle was, Edward Shane Daughtery. After continuing to monitor Pride, he left work and officers attempted to make a traffic stop. Pride had fled and a vehicle pursuit began. As a result of the pursuit, Pride lost control of the vehicle and collided into a home on Florence. The backpack that officers had spotted before the pursuit was discovered and contained a large amount of Cocaine weighing a pound, a large amount of Methamphetamine weighing 250 grams (over half a pound) and digital scales. Due to injuries Pride suffered from the wreck he was not immediately charged. A warrant was obtained once he was released from the hospital. The warrant was served on Monday, April 7th for both Pride and Daughtery. Pride 34, of Florence, was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Cocaine, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Daughtery 45, of Florence, was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine. All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
