When police conducted a raid at a home in Giles County on Monday, March 24th, they found a significant quantity of cocaine and made an arrest. Members of the 22nd Judicial District Drug Task Force obtained a search warrant and performed a traffic stop at the suspect’s Pulaski home on following weeks of undercover operations. After breaking into the house, police found three cars, over $8,000 in cash, over three pounds of cocaine, and a 9mm handgun. Carlos Zapata was also arrested by drug agents. Giles County law enforcement arrested Carlos Zapata as a result of the search. According to District Attorney General Brent Cooper, the street value of the seized amount of cocaine was more than $150,000. It was also stated; Zapata has no criminal history. It came as a shock to law enforcement for an individual to have no priors when dealing with such a large quantity of drugs. Zapata is now being held at the Giles County Jail without bond while the investigation continues.
