From the Lawrence County Emergency Management, Springtime and April in particular are historically the busiest months in the area for severe weather. Storm spotters are individuals who have received specialized training on how to identify and report severe weather to local authorities and the National Weather Service. Lawrenceburg/Lawrence County EMA is conducting a Skywarn Storm Spotter Training session on Tuesday, April 1st, at 6:00 PM at the Lawrence County Emergency Operations Center located at 25 Public Square. This will be a two-hour session conducted by EMA personnel and Lawrence County Skywarn Veteran Barry Roberts. Local severe weather events and a discussion on reporting procedures will be a part of this session. Training is open to the public and existing spotters are urged to attend.
