Juvenile Found Dead After Shooting at a Florence Apartment Residence

Officers from the Florence Police Department responded to a shooting incident at 1301 Hermitage Drive, Southern Oaks Apartments, on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025. In the parking lot, responding police discovered a deceased minor. Detectives set up a crime scene and started questioning witnesses. An individual connected to the event visited the Florence Police Department while detectives were on the scene. The deceased juvenile and another juvenile conspired to rob the other party; it was discovered during the investigation. With the help of the Florence/Lauderdale SWAT Team, detectives from the Florence Police Department worked into the morning to fulfill search warrants in Franklin County and Colbert County. A teenager was taken into custody by Florence Police at around three in the morning and charged with First-Degree Robbery and Felony Murder.
