Resident Seriously Injured In Dog Attack

Due to a high call volume in the city, Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a Lawrenceburg home in the early morning hours Friday after a resident was attacked by her Pit Bull dog.  The dog was still in the room with the 49-year-old victim when they arrived, and they were forced to shoot and kill the dog in order to rescue the victim.  She had sustained serious, gaping wounds to her arms, legs, and side and was bleeding profusely.  She was quickly transported to a landing zone and transported by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
