Ethridge Leaders Hear Water Runoff Issues

Ethridge leaders heard concerns of citizens during their March 17 meeting, regarding areas prone to flooding.  Residents pointed out that in recent years several property owners had built up their properties to prevent the pooling of rainwater.  While this improved their properties, it resulted in more water pooling along adjacent properties.  While the commission said there is little the city can do to address this issue along private properties, they plan to ensure that drainage tiles remain clear and in a good state of repair to minimize the problem.
