UNA Receives Two Awards from Innovate Alabama Network

Innovate Alabama has revealed its third set of designees for the Innovate Alabama Network, with the University of North Alabama receiving two awards totaling nearly $800,000 through the Network Designation Grant and Project Grant programs. UNA and the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area, along with partners such as the Tennessee RiverLine, the City of Sheffield, and North Alabama communities, have been awarded a $749,950 Project Grant for an innovative initiative aimed at addressing obstacles to recreation on and along the Tennessee River in three primary areas. The main targets for improvements are river access areas, parks, trails, campgrounds, pavilions, a paddle craft launch, and five sharable kayak fleets. This is an opportunity to enhance the outdoor experience in Northern Alabama.
