Sheriff Tiller, of Lewis County, wishes to highlight the GED program at the Lewis County Jail and commend everyone involved for their efforts in assisting those incarcerated in obtaining their GED. In July 2023, the GED program at Lewis County Jail was initiated. The first graduates to earn their GED did so in January 2024. On Wednesday, another class finished their studies. Since the beginning of the program, a total of 11 individuals in custody have obtained their GED. Sheriff Tiller would like to express his pride in these individuals for earning their GEDs while there. Additionally, Sheriff Tiller expressed his pride in the commitment shown by the Programs Coordinator Tia Brown, Co-J.A. Jill Norris, Captain Josh Keltner, and all jail personnel involved in this significant accomplishment for these individuals. Additionally, a special acknowledgment goes to Julie Harlan from the South-Central Tennessee Workforce Alliance for her direct involvement and commitment to making this happen.
